D. Lange

For the pictures below, I tried to imitate Dorothea Lange's style of photography. I made my pictures in black and white and edited the exposure. I tried to find a similar composition. The first four pictures are photographs that were taken by Dorothea Lange, and the rest of the pictures are mine. I tried to inspire the photographs out of these first four pictures. I photographed cities, cars, roads, people.

For the picture above, I tried photographing a road.
For the picture above, I also tried photographing a road.
For the picture above, I tried photographing a sign near a car. Lange photographed multiple signs and wagons, but wagons do not exist here in the city.
For the image above, I tried photographing an empty sidewalk with a  few subjects.
For the image above, I tried comparing my subject to the tree, similar to what Dorothea Lange did with the woman and the windmill.
For the image above, I tried photographing signs with big letters near a car.

Pictoral Design

This picture shows line arrangement and leading lines. There are different line compositions that the tiles make.
This picture shows diagonal line arrangement and the lines form multiple squares.
The picture above shows a pictoral image. I tried photographing a landscape.
I tried demonstrating a decorative pattern with the image above. All of the pictures on the wall are forming a pattern.
For the picture above, I tried showing a decorative pattern. The pieces of paper are all scattered in a pattern on the wall.
For the image above, I tried showing a pictoral image by photographing a landscape.
For the image above, I tried capturing line arrangement.

Depth 1

For the picture above and the four below, I tried representing depth by photographing scenes where the objects appear to be distance, and appear to be smaller than the main/bigger object.

For the picture above, I tried capturing depth, by photographing the from the bottom of the pole and trying to capture the length and the top of the pole. In this picture, the pole appears to be getting smaller as the pole gets higher, trying to create an illusion of depth.
For the picture above, I tried capturing depth and repetition. The horizontal gray lines are repeating, but fading away as the picture stretches. I tried creating the illusion of depth, by making it seem as the picture was getting tinier the farther it went.
For the picture above, I tried incorporating repetition and depth. The chain has a repeating pattern of links and I tried representing depth by trying to create the same illusion as the one when I photographed the pole. The chain seems to be getting smaller as it stretches farther.
For the picture above, I tried capturing depth by creating the illusion that it was getting smaller and smaller.
I tried capturing depth in the picture above, by creating the illusion that the see-saw was getting thinner and thinner as it stretched.
I tried capturing depth in the picture above, by photographing the tree as if it were getting thinner and thinner.
For the image above, I tried creating a depth perspective by photographing the beginning of the stem as very obvious and then, as the picture goes on, it kind of disappears in a sense, on to the other leaves.
For the image above, I tried incorporating repetition and depth. The swings are repeating and they sort of fade away, capturing a perspective of depth.
For the picture above, I tried capturing both repetition and depth. The holes are repeating, creating a leading line and it leads to the door that seems to be far away.
For the picture above, the stairs are repeating, creating a sense of repetition and the house door seems to be far away, creating a feeling of depth.

Composition 1

For this assignment, we played around with all sorts of composition.

For the picture above, I tried focusing on the Rule of Thirds, trying to capture an interesting perspective to the picture. The motorcycle is in on the left side of the grid.

For the picture of the door and the plants, I tried also, rule of thirds and trying to organize the picture.
For the picture above, I tried capturing a diagonal perspective, and also a rule of thirds perspective.
For the picture of the door and the lamp, I also did rule of thirds composition.
For the picture of the number one, I tried organizing the picture so that the number one could capture the attention. It is also in rule of thirds.
For the picture of the plants, I tried to capture the plants by taking a picture of them in a diagonal line.
For this picture, I tried diagonal composition.
For the picture of the boxes, I tried the triangular composition. The boxes form a sort of triangle.
For the dark picture, I tried rule of thirds.
I also tried rule of thirds for the picture above.
For the picture above, I tried organizing it in a rule of thirds composition, and i wanted the main focus to be the house and the staircase.
For the picture above, I wanted all of the attention to go to the motorcycle, and I tried taking it in a rule of thirds composition.
For the picture about the cone, I tried capturing it in a diagonal fashion.
I tried capturing the rule of thirds for the picture above.
I also tried rule of thirds for the picture above.
